Eid al-Fitr is celebrated this year on Monday 2 may 2022. The exact date is linked to the appearance of the Shawwal moon in 1443, the tenth month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

Eid al-Fitr is the only holiday celebrated by Muslims around the world. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Eid al-Fitr is a reward from Allah to believers who fasted during the blessed month of Ramadan. It is also an opportunity for believers to thank Allah for giving them the opportunity and strength to carry out his orders during the holy month of Ramadan. Eid al-Fitr is traditionnaly celebrated for three days in almost all Muslim countries. 

Muslims around the world celebrate this event with great passion. Because of the different traditions, celebrations differ from one country to another. They celebrate Eid al-Fitr festivity by beginning the day with the Eid prayer. Then they greet and wish each other beautiful Eid al-Fitr festivities : Eid Mubarak ! Everyone wears a new outfit, as fitting as possible, for this special occasion. Eid day is celebrated with family and friends, who gather to eat and distribute gifts.
